For 167ish years old, this beauty is looking good! 19th century French Louis Philippe Period marble top Commode is a timeless expression of one of the most endearing styles to emanate from Europe during the century! Abandoning carved embellishments and bronze mounts, the style features tailored architecture designed to accentuate the sheer natural beauty of the finely figured woods used in its construction. Topped with its original "sandwich" marble, so-called due to the groove on the edge which was peculiar to the period, it features the trademark scrolled top tier which also houses a full width drawer. Three main drawers below that are adorned with bookmatched burl walnut for an exotic natural look, with the base molding at the bottom also concealing a fifth drawer! Subtly styled and beautifully rendered, the style is compatible with most any decor and arrangement, and will provide generations of enjoyment for your family. Circa 1850s
